Offered for sale is an original Peter Max unique variation mixed media acrylic over lithograph titled "Liberty and Justice For ALL II". This work was completed in 2005 as part of his series in honor of 9/11. I am the original owner of this work, having purchased it directly from Park West Galleries, registration # 155865.0523. Included will be the original COA from Park West as well as the appraisal, which was $9,500 in 2008. According to Park West, the current appraisal would be closer to $12,000. The size is 24" x 18" and total size with frame is 37 1/2" x 31 1/2" The work is in pristine condition and hand signed in acrylic in the lower right. Beautiful gold wood frame with double linen matt, gold filet and glass. This will look spectacular in your home. PETER MAX BIOGRAPHY Born in 1937 - Artist Peter Max was born in Berlin and spent his childhood in Shanghai. From China, the family went to Tibet for a year, and then on to Israel. Peter Max's family's odyssey continued to Paris, and finally, at the age of 16, Max arrived in the United States. Peter Max began his art studies in New York at the Art Student's League and continued at the Pratt Institute and School of Visual Arts. Peter Max, who is known throughout the world and is a household name in America, is famous for his new age style, cosmic imagery and multi-colored blends. During the late 1960's and early 70's, Peter Max's colorful art reached millions of people and he won numerous major awards for his work. Peter Max's paintings, drawings, sculpture and limited edition graphics have been exhibited in major museums throughout the world. American culture has inspired Peter Max for five decades. Uplifting images, bold colors, and unique diversity are the common threads of his art. Max's work includes painting six American presidents, a Continental Airlines 777 airplane, and a cruise ship. After 9/11, Peter did a series of patriotic paintings showing his love of America. Many critics described Peter's work as the visual counterpart to the music of the Beatles. Because of Max's signature style, his paintings embodied the most influential graphic sources of the era.
