19th Century Tang Dynasty Style Carved Horses

These are an exceptionally nice pair of Tang Dynasty style carved horses. They were masterfully carved from camel bone, and are quite old, most likely dating from the mid 19th century. They were brought to this country by missionaries that had been to China in the 1930's, and have been in one Pasadena family's collection for over eighty years. The workmanship is excellent. Most of the paint or dye is still vibrant. They measure approximately 5 1/2" long and are 4" tall.
